Giving Back to Local: Ellicott City
Posted on November 08 2016
For local area Marylanders, we can all remember the torrential rains that came suddenly the evening of July 30, 2016 which caused area flooding in Baltimore City and destroyed the downtown of Ellicott City.
Su Casa in Ellicott City was thankful to have received minor damage to their store on Main Street while also saddened by many of their retail neighbors losing their entire storefront in a matter of minutes.
In early August Su Casa asked if we had any Ellicott City designs. They were looking for ways to help their neighbor retail stores with fundraising towards the restoration.
At Tiny Dog Press, we believe strongly in giving back to society both local and beyond. At the time we did not have any cards, but quickly got to the drawing board and created 2 Ellicott City cards. All proceeds from the sale of these cards are donated to various organizations that are helping with the restoration efforts.
The first weekend of October, Su Casa reopened their storefront and held a benefit shopping day. Through their efforts, they raised over $3000 that were donated to Boliwalou, Linwood Center, and Southwest Connection.
You can purchase these cards at the Su Casa Ellicott City location or online at Tiny Dog Press. The proceeds from the purchased cards will continue to be donated to the businesses who are rebuilding on Main Street.
