Welcoming the New Year @ Tiny Dog Press
Posted on January 29 2018
When you look back on your year, what stands out the most? What got you excited? Did you keep your resolutions, and check things off your bucket list, or did 2017 take you by complete surprise? Looking back on the last 12 months, I am amazed by everything our customers made possible!
- We added Austin, D.C, Philadelphia and Waco to our city card series. We also started printing city posters in these new cities, along with our sweet floral card series.
- We expanded our retail to several new locations, Primitive Beginnings in Baltimore & Ellicott City and Burlap Bag in Austin.
- We held our print & bind workshop with Burdock & Bramble in the studio, and our summer interns, Kelsey & Merriwether helped us run the press July through August.
- We had our first mention in The Knot Magazine Mid-Atlantic edition!
- We were also featured on two blog's! Spendrise Holiday Blog {a seasonal post, no longer up} & Boxcar Press
- And the second annual Benefit Baltimore Market raised $1,800 for local organizations!
We also gained two new part-time staff: Anna Ellis and Rachel Thorson.
Anna Ellis is our new Blog Guru/Editor, who is crafting blog posts, newsletters, and content for our website. She is a Baltimore native who likes to spend her free time reading poetry and practicing yoga, and she has worked as a proposal manager and copy editor for several non-profits in the city.
Rachel Thorson is our new (since October!) Social Media Guru. Rachel grew up all around the country, from the Midwest to the East Coast, but now calls Baltimore home. After getting an BS in Graphic Design at Drexel University in Philadelphia, she worked as a designer for several years, before deciding that her passion laid elsewhere. Taking her knowledge of and appreciation for art, and combining it with her love of organization, she started a business helping artists make more time for themselves and their craft.
And we have big plans for 2018!
For starters, we are hosting with a Valentine’s Day workshop on Monday, February 12th at Red Canoe Café in Lauraville. If you and your child would like to participate, look for details on the Facebook event page.
This year we are hoping to check out some new summer markets; create new designs for our custom birth announcements, stationery, and wedding lines; and also find some time to add a few new cities to our card line. (Shh, don’t tell, but we are looking towards a Windy City, a big Apple and big D, with a few closer to our home base.)
Thank you for being part of our 2017, and we wish you all joy and peace in the new year!
